This article investigates the role of proverbs in shaping social communication practices in English and Uzbek linguistic communities. Despite belonging to different language families, both cultures preserve rich proverbial heritage that reflects shared human experiences, ethical norms, and communicative strategies. Through comparative linguistic and sociolinguistic analysis, the study explores how proverbs function as pragmatic tools, cultural markers, and cognitive frames that guide interpersonal interaction. The research identifies thematic similarities and structural differences, revealing that while English proverbs often prioritize individualism and rationality, Uzbek proverbs emphasize collectivism, respect for elders, and moral instruction. The findings highlight the enduring relevance of proverbs in contemporary discourse, especially in educational, familial, and intercultural communication contexts.
