DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL INVESTMENT PLATFORMS IN UZBEKISTAN: RISKS AND OPPORTUNITIES

This research investigates Uzbekistan’s drive to develop digital investment
platforms under the Digital Uzbekistan–2030 agenda. It shows how rising internet and mobile
penetration, a young population, and growing fintech activity create conditions for online brokerage,
crowdfunding, and tokenized-asset services. The study identifies opportunities—financial inclusion,
SME financing, diaspora investment, and capital-market deepening—alongside key risks: regulatory
gaps, low financial literacy, cybersecurity weaknesses, and limited market liquidity. It proposes
prioritized
legal,
infrastructure,
and consumer-protection reforms, business and tech
recommendations, and a phased roadmap with KPIs. If sequenced carefully, these measures could
make Uzbekistan a regional leader in digital finance.
